COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT

Complete Blood Count (CBC) is a test that measures the red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, haemoglobin and haematocrit in the blood.

DENGUE FEVER ANTIBODIES PANEL (IGG & IGM) (RAPID)

The dengue antibodies test (IgG and IgM) is used for diagnosing an infection by the dengue virus, 5-7 days from the onset of fever.

DENGUE FEVER NS1 ANTIGEN (RAPID)

NS1 test is a blood test which screens for the NS1 protein, produced by the body during a dengue infection.

ERYTHROCYTE SEDIMENTATION RATE

An Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) test is sometimes called a sedimentation rate test. This test helps in determining if there is any inflammation in the body.

MALARIA PARASITE (QBC)

This is a rapid test for the diagnosis of malaria based on acridine orange staining of centrifuged blood samples in a microhematocrit tube.

PERIPHERAL BLOOD SMEAR EXAMINATION

Peripheral smear examination of blood gives a complete clinical assessment of a blood sample.

URINE (CULTURE)

Urine culture is suggested when an infection in the urinary tract is suspected. Generally, urine is sterile, free of microorganisms while in the bladder. Females have more risks of UTIs than men due to a shorter urethera. Urine culture helps to identify the organisms like bacteria causing the infection and helps doctors decide which antibiotics to administer to treat urinary tract infections.

URINE ROUTINE EXAMINATION

A urine sample is collected to check for health diseases involving the kidneys and the liver. The kidneys remove waste material, fluids and other substances from the blood. The urine also contains many different clues that help evaluate how the body is functioning.

WIDAL SLIDE AGGLUTINATION TEST

The widal slide agglutination test detects typhoid (enteric fever) that is caused by Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi A,B and C. The most common source of infection is contaminated food and water, that would have the Salmonella bacteria. If such food is ingested, the Salmonella bacteria invade the small intestine and enter the bloodstream temporarily. The bacteria are carried by white blood cells in the liver, spleen and bone marrow, where they multiply and re-enter the bloodstream. At this point, those with the infection would start experiencing characteristic typhoid symotoms such as fever and abdominal pain. Your doctor would recomend this test to screen for/diagnose a typhoid infection.
